Description

Alaskan Black Bear Taxidermy Rug – B-146R

The Alaskan Bear taxidermy rug B-146R is a genuine Black Bear specimen from Alaska featuring a dark black coat and a small natural white blaze on the chest. The complete rug measures approximately 72″ long × 66″ wide, while the bear itself measures approximately 63″ from nose to tail.

This individual bear remains in terrific overall condition, with the claws, ears and nose intact. The open-mouth taxidermy pose adds character to the presentation, while the contrasting felt backing gives the rug a finished appearance.

Alaskan Bear Taxidermy Rug

B-146R stands out for its naturally dark coat. In addition, the small white chest blaze creates a distinctive marking that helps separate this specimen visually from the other Black Bear rugs in the collection.

The bear retains all of its claws, and the ears and nose remain in excellent condition. These details contribute to the complete appearance of the specimen.

The approximately 72″ × 66″ overall dimensions also give the rug substantial presence without making it excessively large for many trophy rooms, cabins or lodges.

Alaskan Black Bear Rug With Open-Mouth Pose

The mounted head features an open-mouth pose, creating a stronger expression than a closed-mouth presentation.

B-146R also has double-felt backing, finished with blue-gray felt over black. This contrasting combination gives the reverse edge of the rug a clean decorative finish.

The thinner hair along the flanks suggests this was a fall bear, when the coat can differ from the heavier fur seen on spring specimens. The exact specimen listing identifies this as the likely explanation for the thinner flank hair.

Display and Buying Considerations

Buyers should review all available photographs before purchasing B-146R. The images provide the clearest view of the actual coat, white chest blaze, open-mouth presentation, claws and overall condition.

The Alaskan Bear taxidermy rug measures approximately 72 inches long and 66 inches wide at the front paws. Therefore, buyers planning a wall display should measure the intended area beforehand. The rug can also work as a horizontal display where appropriate.

Overall, B-146R combines authentic Alaskan origin, dark natural coloring, an unusual white chest blaze, intact claws, an open-mouth head and attractive double-felt backing. Its substantial dimensions give this individual Black Bear rug strong presence in a lodge, home, office or North American wildlife collection.
